Keys

Tools

V
select — click a block to pick it up, drag to move, double-click (or ⏎) to type in it. Once it's picked up, drag across its text to highlight it
T
text — click anywhere to drop a new block and start typing. Drag it to move it, even before you've typed
D
draw — drag to ink. Click a stroke with V to select it, ⌫ to remove
E
erase — drag across ink and arrows. Text blocks aren't erasable by accident; use ⌫ for those
H
pan — or just hold space, or drag empty canvas, or two-finger scroll

Writing

⇧N
start today. Nothing is made for you on open. What you sent on with Carry to tomorrow sits beside it on the carry card — ⇥ takes it in, ⌫ bins it
type - *
starts a bullet — two spaces in first makes it a sub-bullet
type ###
a heading. #, ##, ### — biggest to smallest
type /c
the work list — pick a client, it lands as a heading with a bullet under it
type --x--
closes the task: a rule, then the next one under the same client
type ->
opens that task's own canvas — the task is the heading, the room under it is yours. esc minimises it to a chip on the line; click the chip to go back in. The circle beside its title, or ⌘ esc, ticks the task ✅ and minimises. Carry to tomorrow, in the bar at the bottom, hands it to tomorrow's brief
type -->
a literal → in your prose, no new canvas
**bold**
*italic*, `code`, ~~struck~~ — all inline
⏎
continues the bullet you're on; on an empty bullet, leaves the list
⇥ / ⇧⇥
indent, outdent a bullet
⌘⏎
tick the line the cursor is on ✅
⌘⇧R
park the whole play in Reserve — folded to its heading, nothing lost
⌘V
paste an image onto the block you're in
drag corner
bottom-right of a block makes it bigger

Getting around

⌘F
find a task — type {client}, {date}, then ⇥ to task 1, 2, 3
⌘⇧F
the same, over Reserve only — ⌘R toggles it from inside
⌘K
jump to any block, or any pasted image, by name
⌘[ ⌘]
back / forward through where you've been
⌘- ⌘= ⌘0
zoom out, in, reset — pull back and everything folds to its header, except today, which stays open
click a chip
on a task line, opens that task's canvas. esc brings you back to exactly where you were
space
on a block with an image, blows it up. Otherwise pans.
← ↑ → ↓
scroll the canvas — hold to keep going, ⇧ for most of a screen
⌥C
colour the card — press again for the next colour, back to none
⌘.
fold a block to its header — days fold to a dated capsule, double-click to open

The rest

⌘Z ⌘⇧Z
undo, redo
⌫
delete the selected block or stroke
⌘⌥⌫
delete the block, even while typing in it
drag edge dot
draw an arrow to another block by hand

esc or ? to close
